HE'S BACK!
And I'm in trouble.
If I ever said my Clay Aiken obsession had gone and passed, I take it back right now.
And obviously, I did say it.
When someone is gone and out of your life, its easy to "forget" and "move on." But when they come back... oh man when they come back...
Tonight I watched the season Finale of American Idol. I've watched the show maybe once all season, but I heard Clay might make an appearance, so I sat through Red Carpet pre-shows, the two hour finale, and even some after show recaps.
I'm still hyperventalating.
I waited and watched ... at about 9:20pm something happened. Ryan Seacrest gave the award of "Greatest Impersonator" to the Clay Aiken wannabe from the auditions. They even let him sing on stage. I was too busy laughing and telling Angy how much I hated him to even realize that the song was "Don't Let the Sun Go Done on Me" - one Clay had sang many times before.
Mid song the doors opened and there stood a shadow. Is it Clay?! Nah, I don't see any spikey hair. Angy, my roomie, yelled out "oh, look who it is for you..."
"What? who?!" I stood up and got closer to the TV...
then I noticed....
ITS CLAY!!!!!!
And LOOK at that GORGEOUS hair!!!!!!!
Its so modern, and punk rock like, and I absolutely LOVE IT!!!!!
Michael, the wanna-be, had a very entertaining reaction, but mine SO WINS!
Remember, I was already standing.
I started SCREAMING!!!! So loud that we couldn't hear him sing! The pillow I was holding was thrown to the ground and I grabbed the remote and turned the TV up as loud as it would go. I threw it down - the batteries flew out I later discovered. I fell on my knees to the floor! I leaned back against the chair behind me with my hand over my mouth so I could hear him. I was breathing heavily - nearly having an asthma attack (and no, I don't have asthma). I began to slide further and further down, the chair falling further and further back, and the table in front of me was now being pushed by my feet.
I ended lying completely on the floor - looking up at Clay just smiling. He finished, I clapped, teared up, and screamed yet again. Still unable to get up... still hyperventalating.
IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!
And now there's a rumored CD release date.
CLAY - I WANT YOU NOW!
You know how one knows they're in love? When you let something go, and it comes back with feelings just as strong - or in this case STRONGER!!!!!!!
