Well, if someone bothered visited my second blog, I guess I'm going to have to make an effort to blog again!
Yes, I'm sleepy, when am I not? Heck, I'm sleepy 24 hours a day... ;)
I keep playing 1000 Days over and over, someone made a new cleaned up version that's better than the original rough cut or the speeded up rough cut. Love the inhaling and exhaling in the first 20 seconds- that part gets repeated a lot! Now who else could you get all excited by listening to a couple of breaths? Answer: No one but Clay! You know, I like most of this song except the verse about the world spinning like a ball, I mean, it just doesn't make sense, the ball, the stars, the moon thing, someone should have just rewritten that verse. Someone should have. But not me, because I'm incompetent. Otherwise, I'd be all over that verse....just believe it. ;) In a perfect world, WAMLAW would be on the new CD, so I'm going to keep hoping until I get shot down.
You know though, it's just so good to have ANY version of Clay singing ANYthing new, because the bottom line is that I will listen to him sing ANYthing. It's not so much WHAT he sings as the way he sings, the voice. The voice that goes right to my heart, It's like no other voice in the world, I'm sure I don't have to tell anyone here that. I wonder if he really understands that, what his voice does to us, we listen with our hearts instead of our ears. Does he really understand his impact? Does he really want to understand his impact? What would it be like to think that the happiness of so many was affected by your every move? A gift and a burden. Too much to think about when I'm sleepy.
Whether 1000 Days is on the album or not, it was nice to get a little something to tide us over a little longer. I must admit that I was getting discouraged and grumpy for a while during our Clackless period. But no more....the finish line is in sight....the gate to the next era in his career is about to open wide and we shall all rush through and join hands on the other side. There will be appearances and concerts and so many wonderful pictures and videos and witty utterances from the object of our affection. If it is Sept 19, that's okay with me, I can keep on keepin' on until it arrives, because when it gets here, it will be overwhelmingly delicious.
I was thinking today, it's a good thing I'm not retired, because I'd be uncontrollable as far as tour tickets. I'd be one of those people who follows the tour. Knowing me, I'd probably find a way to drive behind the bus too, ha ha! Just kidding. Or maybe not....Nancy could be the navigator. And we could hold up signs in the windows as we rode alongside the bus. Gee, I wonder if anyone actually did that? A little scary if so. It's a good thing I have to work then, eh? :)
p.s. I also don't like "in this love we'll drown, this I promise you", I'd rewrite that line too. If I had a brain.
But I do like a thousand days, a thousand nights are not enough....because a thousand days and a thousand nights of Clay are not enough, are they? We've already had more than a thousand days of Clay, and we're just scratching the surface, ladies. :)
