So I dragged Sgt. CB to the Mohegan Sun concert. We got there ahead of the Nanjeannes so we waited in the parking lot for a bit. We started looking at the kitchen cabinet brochure for the rental house. AKA the location where I was almost run over. AKA The Little House on the Ghetto (trademark: Little CB). I told him I wanted the light glacial color and he wanted anything but. Guess which color we ordered yesterday……
Nanjeanne had him very concerned that he would be picked as the evening’s husband who didn’t want to be there. (Which is a brilliant move, Clay.) He even had an end seat which would have made a good choice but that evening Hurricane Ethel was in town so he lucked out. He really should send Ethel flowers for that.
So on Sunday I leave for Wolf Trap. I’ll be gone for almost 3 days with flights, etc. Every night this week he has gone to the little house to do some work and then stopped off at his favorite watering hole to play cards, it’s about 5 minutes from our house. He’s a brat, because he knows I won’t say anything out of guilt for being gone for these three days and four more days at the end of the month.
Tonight before he left, he was telling me about this guy who used to play in their card league. He said the guy’s name was Kenneth S. and they were wondering why they haven’t seen him. So, he was reading the paper today (and let me stress he reads every printed word in the paper. EVERY ONE) and in the legal notices he saw a notice as required by law that Kenneth S. was legally changing his name to Karen Anne S. and the public has three days to contest. Talk about a stunning turn of events, so to speak. He said “No wonder we haven’t seen him!” I said “how would you know?” He laughed so hard that 15 minutes later, I heard him just start laughing again. His job is pretty stressful so it is so nice to be able to make him laugh. Of course he’ll still give me shii…crap when I return on Tuesday.
Today’s Marketing word of the day is TOUCH.
A touch is every time you make contact with a customer or prospect. It could be an ad they see, a postcard you send them, a phone call, a letter, an email newsletter, etc. Conventional wisdom says it takes 5-6 touches before you get someone’s attention. You could just take the easy way out and send them 6 emails but conventional wisdom says that is called SPAM.
One could also say that “she has the right marketing touch” meaning she knows what she is doing with that new product launch. Or if the she is a hooker, the marketing touch might be a bit more literal. Personally, I envy hookers. Their marketing is so straight forward.
I used to think touche’ was just fancy way of saying touch-it’s probably used that way by all the people who said they pronounce niche as neeche.
Touch is one of the five senses. Behavioral studies shows that animals respond to touch. For example, watch Jojoct’s Rhode Island YGAF from the NAT and you will see that Clay did indeed respond to Angela’s touch while sitting on the stool formerly known as serious.
Touch is also a song that appears to have so many restrictions on it that it can no longer be performed by any male singer who is not yet the largest selling solo artist in US history.
Some of our more enthusiastic members of the fandom appear to be a little touched, and it ain’t by an angel. Not that I’m trying to draw wings on anybody or anythin’.
