I'm 44 year old with a disabled I have Cerebral Palsy (CP). I own my trailer and a car. My Cerebral Palsy is Hemiplegia. My is a mild case of CP
Here is what Hemiplegia is:
Hemiplegia means that the Cerebral Palsy affect one side of the person's body. Hemi means half, so the right arm and leg or the left arm and leg are affected. The other side of the person body works just fine. Many persons with hemiplegia are able to walk and run, although they may look a little awkward or have a limp.
Talking and Eating with Hemiplegia:
Just as Cerebral Palsy can affect way a person moves thier arms and legs, it can also affect the way they move their mouth, face and head. This can make it heard for the person to talk clearly and to bite, chew and swallow food. If you meet a lady with Cerebral Palsy you may notice that her speech is hard to understand or that she seems to work very hard just to get out a few words. This because she is not able to make her lips jaw and tongue move as quickly as you can. She may also have trouble controlling her breath flow to make her vocie work. All of these parts of your body are very important in talking.

My parents found out I had Cerebral Palsy when I was 13 months old, in Louisville, Ky . I went to Louisville every week for speech, hand and physical therapy. I got car sick every week going to Louisville. Because we have to go over hills going to Louisville. I stop going when I was about 15 year old.
I had both classes in School, regular and special Ed classes. I did graduation with my regular friends. I graduation 2 years after I should. Because I was in special Ed classes all day. When I was 9 year old.
I can do almost do anything. I can read but not good. I write pen pal letters. I mow my own grass with a Electric 18" Mulching mower. I babysit for my Great-niece and Great-Nephew. I house sit for my niece Stori and her family when they go on family vacation I take care of my parents mail when they go to Custer, South Dakota for 6 months in the Summer.
What I can't do. I can't walk up and down steps without holding on to something. I don't fly because I don't like fast things. I can't cut meat. I don't drive out of Paoli by myself.
My Hemiplegia is on my right side. I do everything with my left hand. I have a walking brace on my right leg. I chew with my mouth open. I try don't to do it. When I drink fast I make funny sounds When I laugh I make funny sounds and laugh without making any sounds..My right hip is not good. So I walk with a limp. I don't walk up to new people and talk to them. I let new people walk up to me.
I have 2 dreams, 1st is to own a house. 2nd is to be able to sit down with Clay and talk with him more then what they do in G&M. Because of my speech.
I have to stop going to Clay concerts. Because my niece Stori is sick of taking me. So I'm looking for Claymate that would do a raod trip with me. I will pay more then half.
