No changes in my son's condition, so no update.
Also, nothing new on the CD front for awhile, so just thought I'd add a little bit that I've posted elsewhere on my thoughts related to the process of developing this cd.
Birth of a CD
Ok, I've got it all figured out. Clay is just jealous! He said so on that clip, right? (21 yr old Clay talking about being jealous of LeeAnn Rimes and Frankie Muniz)
But, WHO is he jealous of? Those other successful musicians out there? Nope.
He's jealous of his WOMEN! That's right. Now think about it, thousands and thousands of fans, a large portion being women. Women of child-bearing age. Women who come on the boards and share stories of the new little ones in their lives. Women who even go so far as to show pictures of those little ones.
Ever notice that Sept 19th is close to 9 months since his last Christmas concert? Well, there you go. He's giving birth in his own special way. This cd is his baby.
You know, those first few months were full of angst and that darn nausea and vomiting. Come on... some of us were even nauseous for him during that time.
Then came spring and things started to grow (no, not THOSE kind of things). But it was a time of planning, getting prepared. A fitting for a photoshoot. Then he appeared on AI5, and surprised everyone! Well, you can't keep pregnancies secret forever, ya know. There comes a time you just can't hide it anymore. And did you see that incredible pregnant glow? Wow.
Then came the summer months... everyone was speculating. Clay even asked us to guess the acronyms for the baby's name. Before we knew it, we had our first 3-d ultrasound. Wow, those pics were yummy. This baby sure has a good looking dad and even though we still can't quite make out the features of the cd cover, we have a good clue.
The last trimester is always the worst. Rush, rush, rush to finalize all the preparations. Do some practice runs. Maybe even some false labor pains. The mood is up one moment and down the next. Excitement and anticipation hang heavy in the air, yet a feeling of anxiety as well. What if something goes wrong?
We are getting so close to the birth of this baby... all the moms have different views on how things are going and how things should be handled, but in the end, Clay has to make his own decisions. It's his baby.
I'm ready for the last few weeks and that exciting birthday. I'm sure Clay could use a birthing coach, right?
