Memories of Christmas
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with your families. My brother hosted Christmas dinner with all the trimmings at his place this year as he is about the only one that has a place big enough for us all. A big KUDOs’ to him and his wife as they had to get up at 4:30 the next morning to catch a flight to join their 3 kids at Whistler, B.C. His children all love skiing, skateboarding or mountain biking so they all decided to follow their dreams and head west to the mountains so that they could enjoy their hobbies. The picture below is not even half of our immediate family. There are 26 missing from this picture that couldn’t be here as they either: don’t live here in Ottawa, are vacationing in Florida or had to work on Christmas day.
In the very back row right behind my father and in the gray, blue and black shirts are my oldest son Sean (grey shirt), husband Pat (blue shirt) and youngest son Jim (black shirt).
Clay’s Christmas Concert
My trip to see Clay in concert in Albany was absolutely the best highlight of my year. As you have all seen, he was so handsome that evening and so stoic and reverend in the delivery of this Christmas concert. It was just beautiful. The moment he started singing “Welcome to our World” the tears started out of no where and I thought to myself that I love him so dearly for the man he has become. Of course I missed his banter, but I felt something more this concert and focused on his beautiful voice this time! Anita and I braved the cold weather for over an hour after the concert in hopes of getting to shake his hand once again at the buses, but decided to give up as our feet were starting to get numb. Of course Sean and Jesse had their own little group of groupies waiting for them to give them presents so they came out for a chat with them, followed by the girls, Angela and Quiana. We overheard Angela tell some of the fans that the jewelry they wore on this tour were not real diamonds although they certainly did sparkle ever so bright when they were up on the stage. Anita and I were joking about getting the girls t-shirts for Christmas (black with silver sparkling writing that said “Clay’s our Sugar Daddy”). I’m sure the girls would have gotten a big kick out of it…Clay on the other hand, not so much!
I have had quite a busy schedule the last couple of months and I do hope to get caught up with all the wonderful friends that I have had the pleasure to meet or converse with here at the OFC. As Clay enters a new journey in his life in 2008 I wish him also peace and happiness and nothing but the best in this New Year as he is so deserving.
