Let me tell you my story.
As a young girl, I went to school in an all girls school. We lived in dormitories ran by the nuns of our school. The nuns were so strict. We had curfews meaning we had to be in the dorm by 6pm. Once we are inside the dorm, we were not to leave until the morning to go to school. We had two curfew hours 6pm and 8pm. The 8pms were allowed only if you had prior permission to be out, i.e. with your family or a school function.
Being young women, we were allowed visiting hours from suitors only on Saturdays and Sundays 4-6pm. They were suitors who were persistent to see you outside of the visiting hours. They attempt to find you in schools or even on the way to the dorm. I have been followed by nuisance suitors during these times. For clarification, I used to ran away from those men because I knew it was wrong and I did toe the line always.
However, some of my friends used to sneak out during the night and meet up with their boyfriends. Two of my friends were caught. Because we were friends I was accused of sneaking out with them thus was punished severely as well. I ended up with a reputation as someone who breaks the rules.
Those persistent suitors were also a downfall because , I was supposedly "encouraging them" to follow me around. I was plagued with a reputation so undeserved all throughout the fours years I was in that school. I never told my mom nor anyone because no matter how I denied it, they believed what they thought they saw. I would have been better off ignoring them because no one believed what I said was the truth. My friends attempted to help me but no one believed them either.
In the end, I redeemed myself with passing my classes with flying colors and perseverance. I was not unscathed however, I was wiser and more confident in myself and my abilities.
That miserable time of my life passed. It is now a speck in my memory. Everyone else has forgotten it. The players are gone and I can't even remember their names. The meanness, the visciousness and the pain it caused me helped me build character.
Looking back at it today, I thank God because He gave me trials that I survived and become a more confident person I am today.
God is giving Clay trials. He too shall survive and he will be a greater person for it. We, as his fans who profess that we love Clay, must stand by his side and by his decisions and love him the best way we can.
Clay , I love you sweetie. I will never leave your side.
