If Clay can blog, so can I!
Things are just a little crazy around here, I feel like there's always something wrong with at least one of us! If it's not allergies, it's asthma, or puking, or bronchitis, or other dr's appts. I guess it's to be expected when these little ones didn't get great medical care (we finally have them all caught up on shots, MAN I wish we didn't have to do that, but that's a whole 'nother blog.... I've made so many calls to their caseworker this week she probably thinks I'm stalker her. And I am, a little.
The doctor's concern right NOW is that M hasn't grown at ALL since he's lived with us. Not a blame thing or anything, he's obviously eating well, but this is the first time he's been tracked, and he was 33.5 inches on March 25th and he's 33.5 inches today. He's already a shrimpazoid for his age, below the 5th percentile, but I hate to have to put him through more tests. We've had blood tests, breathing tests, OT tests, PT tests, Speech tests....it's just a lot :( Plus, I'm not really looking forwarding to holding a screaming almost-three-year old still for an x-ray, call me crazy!
We're going to a conference the 30th and 1st on Reactive Attachment Disorder which we're hoping by some miracle will allow us to continue this placement. I'm just not sure how much longer we can go on without strong professional help. She's seeing a Play Therapist once a week, but should we be seeing an Attachment Therapist?? I've heard that Attachment Therapy sessions are like 3-5 hours long, is that seriously true? I dunno how much more I can take before I feel COMPLETELY ineffective as a parent. Her therapy sessions are good, but one of the biggest things about RAD kids is their superficial way of being charming around everyone except their authority figures (parents). So, she charms the therapist and I look crazy. Ugh.

I don't remember a time that I have ever been as fangirly as I have been the last 3-4 days. I dunno what it is, the blog last night put me over the edge or something. How stinkin' cute is Clay Aiken? No really. Claycub said it best when she IM'd me something along the lines of just being so dang surprised that he's as cool as we think he is.
He is pretty darn cool, isn't he?
I think he misses us :)
