I am appalled. Not by the news, but by the reaction on the message boards. It’s become typical behaviour for the fans to over react, and this time they are being true to form.
The business decision behind collaboration such as this is of no interest to me. I know very little about the industry and am quite content to leave all the headaches to those who get paid to have them.
There are pages and pages of posts proclaiming some rather nasty things. It’s obvious these people are reacting on pure emotions. As a reader and bystander I find a lot of it disturbing.
By tomorrow this whole fiasco could be history and the things that were said will simply be retracted and forgotten about. Or will they? I’m not so sure if I was Clay, knowing what so many of my beloved fans thought of me, I could forget and forgive quite so easily.
I think it must be hard to be Clay Aiken. I think some times it must be down right scary. I think I worry more about his devoted fans than I do the tabloid frenzied media. I think the whole world has gone insane….I think the sooner my membership in this asylum expires the better!
Oh, one more thing….if and when Clay ever decides to tour with Ruben and Kimberly I hope he has one hell of a good time! hugs

ETA ~ Just wanted to say a very heartfelt thanks to those who have posted. Knowing there are folks who feel similarly is reassuring.
It really isn't so much whether we like the idea or not...it's the fact that we respect the young man's choices. To even think we should or would tell him how to run his life is an insult to his intelligence and totally oversteps all bounds.
