Dear Blog,
You know, blog is a somewhat ugly word. It sounds like something you would expell, excrete or hack up. Oh well, that's irrelevant at this point.
I am flushed with success. As techno challenged as I am, I have added an avatar, accessed the blogs of others, added Clay as a friend on my profile, made my name appear at the bottom of the page of "who's online", sent a pm, got a pm and generally stayed so busy I have resisted the temptation to eat some chocolate/coconut/almond ice cream. (Good Lord, that would kill Clay several times over, wouldn't it?)
I wrote a long winded and much edited blog yesterday. It was a bit of a rant about a teensy segment of Clay's "fanbase" who seem to despise him. I felt better for having written it but the fact that it slipped into the black hole of cyberspace is, I'm sure, a really good thing.
It honestly is none of my concern why some members of this board wish to be here when they seem to hate Clay and his fans. I can't imagine it being a very rewarding experience for them. However, they will not spoil my enjoyment of this board or any other. I will just ignore the venom and revel in the wit, intelligence, joy, information, spirit of community, discussion, dissention, diversity and finally, the commonality of our interest....the unique and ever paradoxical Clay Aiken.
This blog-thing is such an alien concept for me, I hope I won't misuse it. I will try not to curse, I will not make it my confessional (just in case someone else opens it), I will try to spell check and I will try use it judiciously, ie. I will enter only the material in which my dog has no interest.
Hurry up July 28th!
