About skshannon24

Hi, just call me Sharie,

Judge's Sec'y / Asst. Court Reporter; young widow; Fav. sayings (1) " Seize the day - it is a gift from God that is why they call it the present." (2) "Learn from other peoples mistakes, one lifetime is not enough to make them all."

My favorite things: Clay Aiken the MAN, Clay the VOICE, music of all kinds, my sewing machine (Singer); collecting small special things; day or Clay dreaming; staying up late at night; sleeping in; shopping; long warm showers; back rubs; snuggling, and Clay Aiken (or, maybe I should have said - snuggling with Clay Aiken --- I wish)

To all those near and far "Drop in and say Hi !"

  • Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I have a dream..." speech

    01/17/06 9 Comments

I am a Caucasian woman who keeps a newspaper copy of Dr. Martin Luther King's speech of August 1963 under her computer's mouse pad in honor of and as a reminder of what a great example Dr. King was to mankind and what a moving speaker he was, to-wit: "I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of it's creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident; that all men are created equal'...And this will be the day...when all of God's children will be able to sing with new meaning, 'My country 'tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing. Land where my fathers died, land of the Pilgrams pride, from every mountainside, let freedom ring.' "And when this happens...when we allow freedom to ring...from every village and every hamlet...every state and every city...we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spritual,'Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty we are free at last!'"
