  • Foot, Meet Mouth - Again

    Lawdy, Miss Claudy! Clay Nation sure can be an interesting place to hold citizenship. In the last coupla days after the TV Guide article, you could find every reaction from a slap upside the head for Clay to a Vicks vapo-rub for the po\' suffering soul. When people say Clay is \"polarizing\", I thought they meant to music critics and DJs and such, but it seems to apply equally well to his very own fanbase.

    Me, I tend to come down near the slapping side of things, just 'cuz I'm not personally turned on by complaining. Wry observation on the absurdity of life rings my bell pretty good, but not out-and-out bitching and moaning. If you've got a terminal disease or your two-room shack just slid down a hill, I'll cut you some slack; but if your big problem is owning a six-bedroom house in evil la-la-land, I'm a little less sympathetic.

    Now I'm not saying Clay doesn't have a right to a few tattered places in his psychic underwear, just that maybe it's not the best idea to hang 'em on the front porch when a reporter's coming to call.

    Maybe Clay just had a bad day. Maybe he needed a Hot Pocket. Maybe he ATE a Hot Pocket that was rotting on the inside. I know I personally hate it when that happens. They just don't know how to properly refrigerate Hot Pockets in LA.

    I fed the article to Audrey the Venus fly-trap. Her digestion is a little slow, I'll let you know her reaction.
