Did I miss something?
Did CLAY AIKEN write an O’FISH-ULL set of fan rules that we all must follow?
Did I miss them?
Everyone loves different things about Clay and his career/hair/teeth/clothes/hair/socks/facial expressions/ …….did I mention the hair?
And other people……….well, let’s just say…………have a “different” opinion.
We all have different ways of expressing our feelings on these.
WHO is right?
Is anyone really WRONG?
………and – No………I don’t know either answer.
What I do know is how bad it makes me feel to see any fan, (by anyone’s definition of the word) put down for ……….well…………..being a fan.
A fan has been soundly chastised on this fanclub today for……..well, being a fan in her own kind of way. I guess she didn’t get the memo, either.
It may or may not be MY idea of fan etiquette (Gawd, I hope it never gets to that.)
And it definitely sounds like it is NOT the idea of some other people’s fan decorum…….but you know what………SHE IS A FAN OF CLAY AIKEN. Doesn’t that count for something?
“I think” it counts a WHOLE lot.
It is not just this board. A lot of the threads here and at other boards where I visit/post get railroaded down the good fan/ bad fan path.
THESE PEOPLE HAVE FEELINGS.
Now I am seeing discussion of who should sit up front at a concert……I mean, REALLY!!!
I am talking about this because I have felt that ire thrown my way……..when I had only been on the boards a couple of months. I was called everything from a loser to a liar.
Why……….because I wanted to meet Clay Aiken. Is that so wrong? I know not EVERY fan wants to meet their favorite celebrity………but does wanting to, make one a LOSER?
I was prompted to share my story on another board. ( I did not want to, for fear of sounding like a braggart)……….and instead of basking in the glow with my new found friends………..I was swimming in tears. I will never forget that. It just plain sucked all the fun out of it.
You know, if I ever meet him again……….I certainly wouldn’t tell this fandom. I wouldn’t want to ruin the sweet memory………..a second time.
I am very, very proud to be a fan of Clay Aiken……….but sometimes I’m not such a fan of this fandom.
You wonder why some fans go away? I don’t.
The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet was F.U.N. to watch. Coming here for sharing in the fun………………not. so. much.
I wanted to post on his own board to tell Clay how much I loved the show. How well “I THOUGHT” he did. How proud I am to be his fan. (I know, he probably wouldn’t even read it ……….but let me have my little fantasy……….)
How I will miss him and pray for his safety on his UNICEF trip and that I will feel better when he is back “home”.
I wanted to share that with all of you. But some of you sucked the wind right out of my sails.
So, this is JUST FOR CLAY.
